2. Server Logs & Infrastructure
When you access Pinames.org, standard web server logging automatically collects basic technical request data via our hosting infrastructure (Hetzner Online GmbH):
- Your IP address
- Date and time of the request
- Requested page URL and HTTP status code
- Browser user-agent and operating system details
These logs are automatically processed for security, diagnostic health, DDoS mitigation, and system stability.
3. Third-Party Partners
To deliver maximum performance and stability globally, technical request data and IP addresses pass through trusted infrastructure services:
- Cloudflare: Acts as a security proxy and network cache to block attacks.
- Bunny CDN: Delivers dataset downloads fast and efficiently.
- Hetzner: Hosts our underlying database and primary execution server.
- Google Analytics: Collects aggregated, anonymized usage statistics and performance metrics.
4. How Search Queries Are Handled
Search terms are mathematically converted into numerical indices. Queries and their Pi positions are indexed in an anonymous database cache to make future searches instant and generate the "Trending Searches" list. Search terms are never linked to personal identities or IP addresses.
